In a statement shared minutes past noon, the youthful politician seemed to confirm the reports that he had been sick.
The Embakasi East legislator revealed that he was on a path to recovery, thanking Kenyans for expressing their care and concern for his health.
“Fellow Kenyans, I sincerely appreciate your concern and care. I am recovering well,” Babu stated.
How Kenyans reacted to Babu’s health update
The MP’s statement was timely as it seemed to ease tension among Kenyans online who had begun showing anxiety over his health.
@AlinurMohamed_:
“Stay strong Your Excellency.”
@KeruboSk:
“Glad, speedy recovery Governor wetu.”
@KijanayaKabras:
“They wanted to poison our future Nairobi governor, tuko rada. Yao mbaya sana. Welcome back Babu 🤝”
@OdhisOdhis34:
“Babu, guard your life like a Nairobi pothole guards a shock absorber—sudden, ruthless, everywhere. Enemies roam like boda bodas at rush hour. Stay sharp, not theatrical. Kenya smells sympathy stunts from miles away. Heal, move wisely, and remember: politics is chess, not hospital drama or pity marathons, played without excuses.”
@iamjoseh:
“Get well soon Governor.”
@DariusBarack:
“All shall be well Babu, Ruoth Kende.”
@jimNjue:
“Quick recovery.”
@SalutRn:
“We want hourly updates regarding your health, including the drugs administered, fluids given and urine output. That’s how we will know how you are recovering.”
@SirJohnKE:
“Quick recovery my G.”
What message did Babu have for Siaya residents?
Elsewhere, Babu turned heads in Siaya county as he urged residents to get ready for a new political direction in the region.
His message was simple but sharp: stop endless talk and focus on unity and clear action for justice, especially over past unrest that cost lives. S
He asked locals to be calm and prepared to follow the guidance he says will come soon, tapping into local frustrations and hopes.
Meanwhile, some locals raised questions about chants of his name at recent events, which Siaya senator Oburu Oginga dismissed as political mudslinging.
Babu’s attention-grabbing tour shows politics in Nyanza may be entering a new phase as leaders jockey to fill the vacuum left by Raila’s death.
