The veteran politician is said to have left Karen, Nairobi, on Friday, December 13, at 11:30 pm for his home in Gigiri, and how he got to Naivasha still puzzles his family.

Jirongo’s death has left his family with several questions as they plan to lay him to rest.

Addressing the media, George Khaniri, former Vihiga senator and a member of Jirongo’s funeral committee, announced the latter’s burial date and venue.

The former MP’s family decided to bury him in Kakamega county where his parents were buried.

“We have agreed on the burial date, which has been set for December 30. He had many homes, so questions were being asked as to which home he will be buried. The family has agreed he will be buried in his Lumakanda home next to his parents’ graves,” Khaniri said.

A video of the former lawmaker’s huge and classy village home stunned Kenyans.

Jirongo revealed they had a daughter, Jelagat, admitting his bad manners broke their marriage.

The polygamous politician disclosed that he married four wives and only one, Anne Tanui, remained with him, and they took care of his many children. Jirongo pampered Anne with praises, thanking her for staying with him despite his flaws.
