Kakamega, Kenya: A sister-in-law of the departed politician Cyrus Jirongo has touched many people after sharing that he moved her from the shared boma and bought her land.

The former Lugari MP died in a grisly road accident in Naivasha after his Mercedes-Benz car allegedly collided with a Climax Bus, and he died on the spot.

The driver of the Climax bus, identified as Tirus Kamau, recounted that Jirongo had just left a petrol station and had driven into the wrong lane before the fatal impact.

What did eyewitness recount of Jirongo’s accident

In his video, Jirongo’s Mercedes-Benz is seen lying on the side, and the passenger bus was also there with authorities assessing the scene. His body was later taken to Lee Funeral Home for preservation.

By the time Jirongo’s body arrived at Lee Funeral Home, his friends and family had already heard the news and were waiting for him. Back home in Lugari, friends and relatives were also trying to come to terms with the death, and among them was the wife of the departed politician’s elder brother.

Just as many other people who have eulogised Jirongo, the woman said that he had a very big heart and changed the course of her life.

Moses Wetang’ula recalls last meeting with Jirongo

In another story, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula was stunned to learn of former MP Jirongos’ death as they were together only hours before he was involved in an accident.

The speaker shared how Jirongo called him after the Jamhuri Day celebrations and requested a meeting. The two met in Karen from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm before parting ways.

While speaking about the death, Wetang’ula reflected on mortality and also shared the loss of his elder brother just days before Jirongo’s passing, adding how death happens without the knowledge of humans.
