Unlike traditional proposals, Jeremy did not get down on one knee, a decision influenced by past struggles with walking after surgery.

Instead, Stephanie sat on Jeremy’s lap as he popped the question and slid a sparkling ring onto her finger after she said yes.

“She said yes. Yesterday I had the privilege of asking the love of my life to marry me. I’m so honoured to spend my life forever with you. I’m blessed you chose me, thank you,” Jeremy captioned the post.

Kathy was among the first to react to the engagement on Instagram.

“I am sooooooooo happy for you, my son. God has truly favoured you. He gave you the very best. Stephanie is a blessing from God. You remind me of your dad and I, who settled early in life and got blessed together. Best decision ever. Love you so much, son. You got this,” she wrote.

Stephanie responded to Kathy’s message warmly, calling her ‘mum.’

Jeremy’s sister also congratulated the happy couple, saying:

“Congratulations. Wedding bells are ringing. This is so beautiful, Jeremy, you did that thing…”
