In a strongly worded demand letter drafted by his legal team led by Shadrack Wambui, Omari says that Obinna allowed political commentator Adrian Oluoch to make unfounded claims on his show, suggesting that he was a corrupt lawyer.
“That on the 15th of December, 2025, while hosting your normal show/podcast on OBINNA TV, while interviewing one ADRIAN OLUOCH BIKO, you entertained and oversaw the said interviewee make injurious, inaccurate, derogatory, false, defamatory and unsubstantiated remarks and comments about our client, to the effect of insinuating that he is a corrupt and unprofessional Advocate of the High Court of Kenya,” the demand reads in part.
Why Oga Obina’s YouTube video angered Danstan Omari
One of the statements singled out in the demand letter quotes Oluoch alleging: “the legal system is very corrupt, so the moment you have someone like Danstan Omari, he knows who to bribe.”
Wambui added that the remarks were not backed up by any proof and that Obinna made no effort to stop his guest from continuing to suggest that his client compromises judicial officers.
“Your guest, in one of his many false and juvenile statements, made claims in line with our client being one who knows his way around bribing judicial officers and getting away with it. These allegations were neither backed up by an iota of evidence, nor clearly pointed at the incidence and origin informing their pronouncement, to wit; ‘…the legal system is very corrupt, so the moment you have someone like Danstan Omari, he knows who to bribe’,” the demand reads in part.

Wambui further accused Obinna, who recently graduated with a degree in media studies, of repeatedly encouraging Oluoch to continue defaming Omari.
“That given your longstanding media career and hosting, you certainly did foresee the statements repeatedly made, but took no step, or encouraged the said interviewee to go ahead and continue defaming, besmirching and spreading the said derogatory statements against our client,” the letter further states.

What Danstan Omari wants Obina to do
Omari says that the podcast, which was streamed live on Monday night, has caused reputational damage to his career, which he has struggled to build over the years.
“Given the defamatory, derogatory and unfounded statements made by the said interviewee and posted on your social media platforms, among them X, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook, the same has caused and continues to cause immeasurable, irreparable and uncalled-for reputational damage to the illustrious career that our client has painstakingly built for over a decade of being a children’s officer, a lecturer at various law schools, a managing partner at one of the best law firms in Kenya, a role model, an astute legal practitioner, and an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in good standing,” his lawyer Wambui added.
The controversial lawyer now wants Obinna to delete the podcast and issue an apology within 12 hours, failure to which he will institute legal proceedings.
“Take note that should you fail to comply with our client’s demands within the strictly stipulated timelines, we shall move with haste to institute legal proceedings against you, all at your expense, and with no further reference to you whatsoever,” his lawyer warned.
Omari further wants Obinna to withdraw the podcast, which he describes as “unfounded”, from his social media platforms with the same energy with which it was posted.
Why court warded Obina KSh 6m
Obinna was recently in the spotlight after he was awarded KSh 6 million in a defamation case where he sued socialite Maureen Imbayi, better known as Black Cinderella, and Radio Africa Group radio host Massawe Japanni.
The case stemmed from a 2024 interview aired on Radio Jambo in which Cinderella allegedly made unverified allegations against Obinna during a show hosted by Japanni, where Cinderella accused Obinna of alleged sexual misconduct.
Wambui described Omari as an accomplished legal professional who has built his career over more than a decade, serving as a children’s officer, lecturing at various law schools, and acting as managing partner at one of Kenya’s leading law firms.
