Onfon Mobile has issued an official clarification following concerns raised by some customers regarding temporary service interruptions on Lipa Mos Mos devices experienced on December 13, 2025.

“We took immediate measures to correct the mishap,” said Andrew Mbuya, Managing Director of Onfon Mobile.
“We experienced slow transaction processing on some customer payments, which we promptly isolated and resolved. In addition, we have upgraded our platforms to handle four times the previous transaction capacity to prevent recurrence.”

To mitigate the inconvenience caused by the payment processing delays, all affected customers were granted 48 hours of free access to their devices from December 13 to 15, 2025. All payments made during this period were accurately reconciled and reflected in customer accounts upon expiry of the grace period on 16 December 2025.
