When was Antony Mugambi’s body found?
Antony Mugambi’s body was found at the morgue on Monday, December 15, leaving his family in pain and full of unanswered questions.
His cousin, Faith Karambu, took to social media to announce his death and advised Kenyans on what to do after a loved one goes missing.
“If your relative or friend goes missing and their phone just keeps saying, ‘The number you have dialed is not reachable,’ Please immediately report the matter and start searching for them in hospitals and mortuaries. Do not wait. After about one week, unclaimed bodies are disposed of.
I am writing this with so much pain right now. My cousin went missing, and his mother kept calling his phone, but it was always unreachable. Just the other day, his body was found lying at the City Mortuary, already decomposed,” she tearfully wrote.
Faith Karambu suspects Antony’s silence
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Karambu said she began growing suspicious about her cousin’s whereabouts after he went silent for a long time.
Despite noting that Mugambi was a quiet and calm person, she said his prolonged silence was unusual since they used to communicate from time to time.
“I thought he had cut me off, or rather the whole family, because his silence was not only towards me but to all family members. I even made a funny video on social media saying that anyone who wants to cut me off, I will give them scissors to make their work easier. I never knew my cousin was no longer alive,” she said.
Faith Karambu learns of Mugambi’s death
On Monday, December 15, Karambu received a distressing call that confirmed a troubling WhatsApp message stating that the 28-year-old Mugambi was no more.
It was his friends who found his body, already decomposed, after launching a desperate search when they could not reach him on his phone.
“He was hit by a car in November and taken to the hospital. Unfortunately, he did not survive, and his body was taken to the mortuary. The hospital was on the verge of disposing of it permanently. I was told several bodies had already been disposed of, and it was a miracle that his was still there,” she said.
Antony Mugambi’s social media accounts hacked
Karambu also revealed that Mugambi’s social media accounts were allegedly hacked, with all his photos and videos deleted.
The accounts were also set to private, which raised her suspicions, leaving her wondering whether there was more to her cousin’s death.
“Two months ago, you traveled from Nairobi and attended our grandmother’s event. I had invited your mother and my other aunts to come and celebrate Christmas with us on the 25th. Now look at what has happened. What kind of pain is this?” she painfully asked.
