Ruto has been up and about and was recently spotted in Baringo alongside George Ruto and Nadia Cherono.
The head of state made a rare family appearance with his children during the Cultural Festival and the Kimalel goat auction. Ruto, who adopted Nadia in 2015 after she was rescued as an abandoned newborn from a children’s home in Machakos, was seen in coordinated outfits with George, with both wearing white shirts.
However, the president chose formal trousers, black shoes, a fedora, and a walking stick, while his son opted for casual cargo pants and sneakers. Nadia appeared in blue jeans and a black top with a white collar.

What is Ruto’s Christmas message?
A video shared on Christmas Eve showed Ruto appealing to the younger generation as he used slang commonly associated with Gen Z.
The president wore a cap and shirt and stood outside the section where he usually welcomes guests. He walked down the stairs as a guard stoically stood behind him.
Ruto was in high spirits as he addressed Kenyans.
“Kenyans, in 2025, we clocked it. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a great and blessed 2026. On the roads, let us drive carefully—avoid unnecessary losses. Otherwise, thank you so much, God bless you. Nawapenda jameni.”
His use of slang did not go unnoticed, prompting reactions from Kenyans:
Gen Edwin Kiprotich:
“Merry Christmas to you, too, Mr President.”
Patricia Tonui:
“Nani alifunza Ruto to clock it.”
Cylia K.R:
“Clocked what?”
Stephen Ndungu:
“There are those enjoying Christmas, then there are others being enjoyed by Christmas.”
Joseph N Njoroge:
“He clocked his net worth target this year.”
Onesmus:
“You should say ‘I clocked it.’”
Wycklife Amoloh:
“The only person whose voice still gives me hope after we lost Baba is. Whenever I miss Baba I listen to this voice.”
How was Ruto scared?
In other news, TUKO.co.ke reported that Ruto faced two startling moments during recent public duties in Kenya.
On December 9, while launching the expanded Tsavo West Rhino Sanctuary in Taita Taveta alongside US delegates, a newly released black rhino briefly charged toward their elevated vehicle, causing the president to react instinctively before the animal veered away.
Laughter followed as relief set in.
Three days later, on Jamhuri Day at Nyayo Stadium, a Kenya Air Force F-5 jet’s low supersonic flyover produced a thunderous sonic boom, prompting Ruto and dignitaries to flinch and look skyward despite prior announcements.
The traditional display also caused nearby property damage, including shattered windows, leading residents to seek compensation.
