On Wednesday afternoon, Murkomen visited the Kenya Defence Forces’ Todo Camp in Kolowa sub-county, Baringo county, where he shared a meal with officers drawn from the multi-agency Operation Maliza Uhalifu (OMU).
The operation has played a key role in curbing banditry and restoring relative calm in the Kerio Valley and surrounding areas.

How Murkomen spent Christmas day with security officers
Addressing the officers, Murkomen acknowledged that many members of the security forces were spending Christmas away from their loved ones in the line of duty.
“The majority of our security officers are spending this Christmas season away from their loved ones, selflessly ensuring that our country remains safe and secure,” he said.
The visit offered a morale boost to officers stationed far from home, as Murkomen sat with them, shared words of encouragement, and recognised the personal sacrifices they and their families continue to make in service to the nation.
In photos seen by TUKO.co.ke, Murkomen and the officers were seen enjoying a banquet of well-prepared meals and bottles of soda.

Murkomen praises families of soldiers
He was accompanied by Deputy Inspector General of the Administration Police Service Gilbert Masengeli, Deputy Inspector General of the Kenya Police Service Eliud Lagat, and other senior government officials, all of whom thanked the officers for their commitment and resilience.
“Today, we come not just to celebrate the festive season, but to honour the bravery, commitment, and resilience of our officers,” Murkomen added. “Their work is often behind the scenes, but it is vital for the peace and security of every Kenyan. We recognise their sacrifices, and we stand with them and their families.”
The Interior CS also paid tribute to the families of the officers, noting that their support enables security personnel to operate under difficult and demanding conditions.
“We salute every officer and their families for the great sacrifices they make in service to our nation,” Murkomen said.
Did Caleb Amisi share Christmas with Kitale inmates?
In a related development, Saboti MP Caleb Amisi marked Christmas Day by visiting inmates across several Kitale prisons, where he donated foodstuffs, essential supplies and small gifts as part of his call for inclusive leadership.
During the visit, Amisi praised prison training programmes that equip inmates with practical skills such as farming and carpentry, but raised concern that many struggle to secure jobs after completing their sentences.
The lawmaker said he plans to introduce a parliamentary bill to ensure skilled inmates are supported with employment after release, while also urging the government to prioritise economic relief for Kenyans in 2026.
