Kingi narrated how they had been walking and chatting jovially moments before he was later informed that Lumumba had passed away.
“Gone too soon, my young brother. The cruel hand of death has snatched you so fast. One minute we are having a walk and chatting jovially, and the next minute I’m called to be informed that you are no more,” Kingi said.
Kingi emphasised that Lumumba was more than just a security detail member; their relationship extended beyond professional duty.
He lauded Lumumba’s unwavering dedication, professionalism, and loyalty, qualities that garnered him deep personal and professional respect.
“To me you were not just a bodyguard, you were family. I admired the way you discharged your duty with utmost dedication, professionalism and loyalty. RIP Cpl. John Lwane Lumumba,” the Senate speaker mourned.
