Gospel musician Phyllis Mbuthia has broken her silence after claims she was deported from the US surfaced.

Reports surfaced before the new year that the musician was deported from the US for improper documentation.
Was Phyllis Mbuthia deported?
The reports further alleged that the musician had been transported back to Kenya before her performance in the US.
Bloggers noted that Mbuthia was slated for a crossover performance in the US, which did not sail through.
Mbuthia, in a recent TikTok video, publicly displayed an official document from the US Customs and Border Protection office based in Seattle.

The letter showed that she had already been given a fine of USD 300, which she had to pay, which further confirmed that she indeed had problems with the US immigration authorities.

In her videos, the musician lip-synced Kigooco singer Jose Wa Bedan’s hit song ‘Kirathimo’, whose message is mainly about resilience during difficult moments.
It also speaks about going back to Christ after difficult seasons in one’s life and having renewed trust and faith in the Lord.
Mbuthia also affirmed that she had issues with the US government, adding that now, she had international issues.

Via the comment section, she made it clear that she wasn’t deported, but she was refused entry to the US due to visa issues.
She also set the record clear that she was not arrested and was in Kenya by the time the rumours began.
“I was not yet arrested, dear. I was in Kenya when the rumours began.”
