How William Ruto reacted to 2025 KCSE results
Ruto described the performance as satisfying, pointing out that more than half of the candidates secured university entry grades.
A total of 993,226 students sat the examination between October 21 and November 21 across over 10,000 centres nationwide.
He emphasised that the majority of top performers were female candidates, noting that out of the 993,226 candidates, half of whom were girls, 270,000 attained C+ and above, qualifying for direct university admission.
Of the total candidates, 492,019 were male, and 501,214 were female, all examined across 30 subjects.
Why some KCSE 2025 results were cancelled
In other news, at least 1,180 candidates who sat the 2025 KCSE examination did not receive their results after being implicated in exam malpractices.
CS Ogamba stressed that the ministry would maintain a firm stance against dishonest practices.
He explained that investigations into reported cases of cheating confirmed irregularities involving the candidates, leading to the cancellation of their results in line with existing laws and regulations.
The number of cancellations represented a more than 40% increase compared to 2024, when 840 results were nullified.
