“The Public Service Commission invites applications from suitably qualified persons to be considered for nomination for appointment to the positions of chairperson and members of the Intelligence Service Complaints Board,” it stated in an advertisement shared on X.
PSC asked Kenyan job seekers to submit hard-copy applications to the secretary/CEO, Public Service Commission, Commission House, P.O. Box 30095–00100, Nairobi.
“Applications should be submitted manually (hard copy). All applications must include a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV), copies of ID/passport, academic certificates and transcripts, testimonials, and other relevant supporting documents. Applications should be submitted in a sealed envelope,” it explained.
What are the requirements for the ISCB chairperson?
- Be a Kenyan citizen.
- Possess a legal degree from an accredited Kenyan university or have served as an advocate on the Kenyan High Court, or hold a comparable degree in a common-law jurisdiction.
- At least 10 years of expertise as a magistrate or superior court judge, or 10 years of experience as a distinguished academic or legal practitioner.
- Be unbiased, honest, and of good moral character.
- Candidates must meet the conditions outlined in Chapter Six of the Constitution.

- A bachelor of laws degree.
- At least seven years of experience.
Requirements for an ISCB member (retired senior intelligence officer)
- Be a Kenyan citizen.
- A degree from a Kenyan-recognised university.
- Candidates must be retired senior intelligence officers with distinguished careers.
What conditions should successful candidates meet?
Successful candidates must present the following original documents:
- A national identity card.
- Academic and professional certificates and transcripts.
- Supporting documents and testimonials.
- Valid clearances from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (police clearance certificate).
- Candidates will also be required to submit recommendation letters, where applicable.
