A video clip of Terry Mwaniki, the personal assistant of renowned businesswoman Catherine Wambugu, speaking about death some time before she was involved in a fatal accident, has touched many people.

Terry, Catherine, and their driver, Dominic—affectionately known as Dommie—were sadly involved in a nasty accident in Ngareng’iru.
“The late Terry and Dominic and Catherine are good friends of mine. They had even visited my great-grandmother’s place before they got involved in the accident,” Dickson Ndirangu told TUKO.co.ke.

“I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude to the incredible people of Kiawara who made efforts to help our friends during the accident in Ngareng’iru, where Teresa Mumbi Mwaniki and Dommie tragically lost their lives. They also lost their phones and other valuable items. I want to thank those who returned the phones and valuables,” he said, adding that the person who took Terry’s phone at the accident scene should return it to the Wambugu’s Apple premises.
What was Terry’s video all about?
In a video shared before her death, Terry said that people are often afraid of the unknown, noting that she had been thinking about musician Betty Bayo and her children in that context.
“I have been praying and asking God that, for the sake of our children, He gives us long life to take care of them. As a mother, nothing can compare to the love you have for your children,” she said.
“People were asking about Betty having cancer and how the people close to her did not know she had the condition. Unless someone close to you has gone through a cancer experience, you cannot understand it. I didn’t know why God chose us—friends or relatives—to go through it,” she added.

How was Terry’s dad?
In her video, Terry reflected on her father’s lifestyle, saying he was always strong, lived well, and avoided unhealthy food whose origin he did not know. She noted that he took great care of himself.
“He went from stage one to stage four. I did not know my dad was sick until he started losing weight. Parents these days, we are hustling for our kids. I once asked him why he was not going to the hospital, and he said he had a flu that wouldn’t go away,” she explained.
Terry said cancer is deeply traumatic and that unless one decides to heal after losing a parent, the pain never truly fades because one can never get another parent.
“I have been telling God to take away the fear of the unknown. I have been praying for anyone going through that fear to trust in God, who created us even before we knew ourselves and who wakes us up every single day,” she said.
“Let us trust in God and believe that He will give us hope for the future. I started counting my blessings even though I passed through fire. God still helps me. God, who sees in secret, will cover you with His blood, and you shall live long,” she added.

Wambugu explains how she escaped wreckage
In another story, businesswoman Catherine Wambugu, of Wambugu Apples shared how she survived the accident that also killed her employees.
Catherine spoke about the matter in a hospital bed and revealed that she was heartbroken by the death of her employee.
The businesswoman greatly sympathised with the families of her dead employees while narrating how she tried to ask for help but only one person responded.
