Teacher Lizzie was astonished when her village friend, whom she had not heard from for a while, texted her, but instead of exchanging pleasantries, he made fun of her for being a JSS teacher.
In the leaked chats, the seemingly rude friend asked Lizzie why she was a Grade 8 teacher, yet he thought she was teaching physics in a high school.
“So you are a teacher? So this whole time you were a teacher of primary school, yet we were told that you teach physics. I saw on TikTok that you are a Grade 8 teacher,” the friend said in the messages while adding the trashcan emoji.

Teacher Lizzie claps back
Lizzie, who was shocked by the old pal’s texts, did not mince her words while telling him off, asking if that was the reason he had looked for her number.
The teacher also took the time to explain where Grade 8 falls under in the new curriculum, and her friend ended up apologising, saying he was not being malicious in his mockery.
“Grade 8 falls under Junior Secondary School. Teaching there simply means you are qualified as a high school teacher. Just to put it out there, I am already qualified to teach in senior schools, effortlessly,” Lizzie clapped back.
She further noted that the old friend had not yet changed, since their first conversation in two years was disrespectful.
“You really haven’t changed that much, have you. Go take care of cows and leave me alone,” the teacher added.

Kenyans react to teacher Lizzie’s post
The post has gained attention on TikTok, with many people calling out the teacher’s friend for the condescending remarks towards Lizzie.
Many were also curious to know Lizzie’s pal’s career, since he seemed to think of himself as higher than the teacher.
Here are some of the comments:
@Alfred
“I think you send me the number of your friend, I send him greetings and teach him how to respect other people’s hustles.”
@Floral sets said:
“I am a teacher by profession. I was once degraded for being a teacher. I was told I would embarrass them as they had “high” professions. Today, I mention I am a teacher, and the respect I receive is high. Teaching has opened doors I never thought would open for me.”
@Natalie:
“Very good, I love the comebacks.”
