The reunion comes just over a year after their explosive encounter that sparked mixed reactions online.

What happened between Bungoma Goliath and Obinna?

In late 2024, Goliath appeared on Obinna Show Live, seeking support after relocating from his village to the city in pursuit of a better lifestyle.

At the time, the influencer, though trending online, was struggling with even basic necessities like finding a place to stay.

During the interview, Obinna told him off, advising him to return to the village if city life proved too challenging, comments that sparked backlash against him online.

Things have since taken a dramatic turn for Goliath. After leaving Obinna’s show, he was picked up by city car dealers Car Soko as their brand ambassador.

Over the past year, Goliath has grown significantly; he now owns a motorbike, is constructing a three-bedroom bungalow in his rural home, and has seen his social media influence rise.

Did Bungoma Goliath and Obinna make peace?

Seeing his transformation, Obinna invited Goliath back to his show, this time accompanied by his manager and senior at Car Soko, Patrick Riang’a.

Goliath arrived dressed to impress in a sharp suit, a far cry from his appearance during the first interview.

During the reunion, Obinna commended Goliath for persevering instead of returning to the village as he had suggested a year ago.

However, he did not apologise, explaining that his earlier words played a role in Goliath’s eventual success.

“Whatever happened that day on the interview, God was working. There was a reason for that. If I were to say sorry, it would imply I wanted you to go back to the village, which clearly wouldn’t have led to your success. It worked out a certain way, and I hope you take it positively,” Obinna said.

He added:

“I did not intend to disrespect you that day. I simply couldn’t come through for you at the time, so I told you to go home. The caterpillar has now become a butterfly. God worked through Patrick, Car Soko, and your fans, and now things are good.”

Goliath echoed Obinna’s sentiments, expressing gratitude and saying the harsh comments had ultimately opened doors for him.

“I do not have any ill will against you, and I cannot hate you. We never fought or argued. Your words actually opened bigger doors for me. I never even knew I could wear such clothes; now I receive everything from the company. I am just grateful. May God bless you, Obinna,” he said.
