Popular self-proclaimed Prophet Owuor and his church have been trending since the week began, after a local TV station released an investigative piece on the ministry.

The investigations by TV47 sought to determine whether claims of healing made by the prophet were real, with the journalists even speaking to the members of the church allegedly healed from HIV.

Amidst the trending news, a viral WhatsApp screenshot has been circulating online, with many alleging that it captured the prophet’s chats with God.

Prophet Owuor’s church dismisses screenshot

A statement from a member of the Repentance and Holiness Ministry dismissed the screenshot, terming it entirely false and malicious.

“Prophet Dr Owuor has never made, displayed, or alluded to any such communication. The circulating material is a fabrication intended to mislead the public, ridicule the Christian faith, and distract from the central message of repentance, holiness, and preparation for the coming of the MESSIAH,” the statement to the public read in part.

The statement indicated that the ministry is dedicated to truth, guided by the Ministry’s official statement of faith of the Ministry.

“For clarity on what the ministry truly believes and teaches, we direct all seekers of truth to refer to the official Statement of Faith of the Ministry, as attached. This document clearly outlines the biblical foundation, doctrine, and mission of the ministry. Let us remain discerning, anchored in truth, and focused on the genuine call to repentance and holiness, the statement added.

Kenyans react to statement issued by Owuor’s people

Many Kenyans have reacted to the ministry’s statement, with many saying it was obvious that the screenshot was fake since it would be utterly impossible to speak with God.

Others urged the church to respond to the claims made of falsifying documents to claim healing of chronic health conditions, such as HIV.

In other news, a month ago, the government warned Prophet Owuor against claims of miraculous cures of HIV.

Health Cabinet Secretary Duale asked the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists’ Council (KMPDC) to investigate claims that Owuor had cured HIV patients.

He explained it was dangerous for anyone to believe such claims.
