A Russian man who trended online for filming his encounters with African women has finally spoken after sparking outrage on social media.

Vyacheslav Trahov, also known as Yaytseslav, trended after videos of his interactions with women from Kenya and Ghana surfaced online.
Clips of him interacting with Kenyan women recently emerged, drawing mixed reactions from social media users as the videos became widely discussed.
Why did Yaytseslav record his escapades?
Most of the footage showed him moving around malls, supermarkets and other public spaces where he approached and interacted with women.

In an alleged message from his private Telegram channel, the man addressed the videos, seemingly attempting to calm the growing backlash.
“These videos are almost a year old, but I wanted to remind you that girls aren’t just in your city or country but also in other countries like Africa,” he wrote.
Yaytseslav claimed there were many women across the African continent, beyond those in his native Russia and other countries.
Yaytseslav sends message to fellow citizens
He also urged his fellow countrymen to visit Africa, claiming that being white gave them an advantage when interacting with women.
According to his remarks, he said African women were not necessarily interested in money when engaging with foreigners.
In many of the clips, he is seen chatting with women and inviting them to his residence, with some agreeing to exchange contacts and meet him.
“If you are a white man, you will be much more in demand there. They are interested in trying it with a white man,” he allegedly stated.

Brian Oreng’ told TUKO.co.ke that the Russian man used sophisticated Ray-Ban smart glasses to film the interactions, allegedly without the women’s consent.
He explained that the glasses could record and store footage, which could later be accessed and uploaded to other platforms.
