Safaricom announced its 2026/2027 internship programme on its website and encouraged graduates and students to submit their applications through its recruitment portal.

Who is eligible for the Safaricom attachment and internship programmes?

The telco noted that the three-month attachment programme for ongoing students will have intakes in April, July, October and January 2027.

The six-month internship programme is for recent graduates who graduated within the last 12 months and students awaiting graduation. The intakes are in April and October.

Safaricom invited applicants from diverse disciplines, including human resources, finance, public relations, communications and supply chain.

“We are inviting bold, curious, and driven young talent to join our 2026/27 annual internship programme across HR, legal, finance, supply chain, marketing, audit, PR & communications, enterprise risk, cyber security, and technology – an opportunity to learn, contribute, and shape what is next from day one,” the advertisement read.

What are the requirements for Safaricom career opportunities?

  1. Candidates must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree programme at an undergraduate institution and be in their third, fourth, or fifth year of study.
  2. Either have a bachelor’s degree obtained within the last 12 months or are awaiting graduation.
  3. Be accessible full-time throughout the chosen intake period.
  4. Candidates should apply for only one intake per calendar year.
  5. Applicants must commit to the programme for its full duration, which is three or six months and cannot be extended.
  6. Applicants should be passionate, curious, and ready to learn.

  3. Choose your skill area.

Career development associate Simon Ingari advised job seekers to maintain a professional online presence.

He told TUKO.co.ke that most private companies check candidates’ online presence.

“Keep LinkedIn updated, with a clean profile photo and a compelling headline. Recruiters from private institutions often check this,” he recommended.

Which other institutions are hiring?

In other job-related news, the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) invited applications from Kenyans and other nationals to fill multiple senior positions at its Lusaka headquarters.
