Legendary bodybuilder Varinder Singh Ghuman has been cremated after his sudden death.

Ghuman died on Thursday, October 9, after suffering a heart attack while receiving treatment at Forts Escorts Hospital, in Amritsar, India. According to his nephew, one of the world’s first vegetarian bodybuilders complained of shoulder pain before he died.
In 2009, Ghuman won Mr India title at the annual national bodybuilding championships and secured second place in the Mr Asia competition.

After his sudden death, which left his fans across the world devastated, the hospital where the bodybuilder died released a statement.

“Varinder Singh Ghuman was evaluated in the OPD on October 6. Following clinical assessment, arthroscopic rotator cuff repair with biceps tenodesis was advised. The patient had no known comorbidities. At approximately 3:35 PM, the patient developed a sudden cardiac arrhythmia. The anaesthesia, cardiology, cardiac anaesthesia, and critical care teams immediately initiated advanced resuscitation measures. Despite sustained and coordinated efforts, the patient could not be revived and was declared dead at 5:36 PM,” read the hospital’s statement.
The hospital added:
“Fortis Hospital deeply regrets this unfortunate loss and extends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and his numerous fans.”
Was Varinder Ghuman cremated?
The 42-year-old bodybuilder, a native of Gurdaspur, Punjab, was cremated on Friday, October 10, in an emotional ceremony.
PTI reported that thousands of mourners, including politicians and celebrities, attended the cremation at the Model Town cremation ground in Jalandhar.
A video shared by The Tribune shows emotional scenes at the bodybuilder’s cremation. His mother was overwhelmed with emotions and was spotted weeping uncontrollably as she was being supported by family members.

What happened to influencer Valioso?
In a separate story, TUKO.co.ke reported that influencer and funnyman Alex Luan dos Santos Pereira, popularly known as Valioso, died in a tragic accident while on holiday.
The 20-year-old content creator, who was well-known for his humorous skits and reaction videos, passed away after his car lost control and hit a tree along Padre Alfredo Street, near Jardim da Saudade Cemetery in Jacobina, Brazil.
