Raila’s brother, Oburu Oginga, who noted that they were separated by only a year and a few months, stated that the family would hold a private ceremony for their loved one.

Only a few people would be lucky enough to attend the ceremony as they pay their last respects to the iconic figure.

What did Raila Odinga’s mum do for living?

Mary once confronted a teacher at Maranda High School for punishing her sons, even though the teacher had given them permission to skip school to attend to family matters.

She was the first wife of Jaramogi, who was Kenya’s first vice president, and part of his political success was attributed to the role Mary played.

Mary passed away after a short illness while Raila was imprisoned at the Shimo la Tewa Maximum Prison in Mombasa county.
