Dee’s mum stood next to the television as she closely followed the service, as seen in the clip.
“Check up on your parents, guys. They are going through a lot,” she captioned the video, which went viral.
Her frail mother looked sorrowful, her face clouded with grief following the demise of the political leader.
Her heart sank as she struggled to come to terms with the sad reality that Raila, an iconic figure, was no more.

Dee’s mum put her hands behind her back as she quietly watched the television, following the emotional ceremony.
She stood still for a moment, listening intently, almost motionless like a statue.
As the ceremony went on, she changed her position, placing her hands on her hips, still appearing stunned.
She then waved at the television with her right arm while her left hand remained on her hip.

Family counsellor Jane Murimi Mugo urged loved ones to check on each other oftenly and not when they need something from them or when a tragic incident occurs.
“It is important to call your kin once in a while just to say hi and check how they are. The conversations that stem from such gestures are the ones that build strong bonds. You may land a job opportunity or get invited to a meeting by that simple gesture. Even when you have nothing to talk about, call or text just to keep the bond strong,” she told TUKO.co.ke.
