Where will Raila be buried?
The former prime minister’s brother, Oburu Oginga, had revealed that Raila would be laid to rest near their father, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga’s mausoleum in Bondo.
Oburu also made it clear that Raila’s burial will be a private event with only a few people there. But he didn’t say who the few were.
According to the funeral program, the event will take place on Sunday, October 19.
What was Ruth’s message to her mother?
Raila wanted to be buried next to his mother, Mary Juma Odinga, who died in 1984, in his last will and testament, although his grave has been moved to a spot near his father’s mausoleum.
Because Raila was a respected Luo elder and statesman, his burial will follow a number of important Luo rituals to honour his ‘passage to the ancestral world.’
His sister revealed that she had informed their mother that her son was back in Bondo to rest. Ruth went directly to her mother’s gravesite.

“Mama, I brought back your son! I went to Kango Ka Jaramogi family mausoleum, specifically the grave of our beloved mother, Mama Mary Odinga, to tell her that her son, Raila Amollo Odinga is back. Thank you, Bondo people, for the love you showed brought a smile to my grieving face. It is well,” she said.
