First Lady Rachel Ruto has penned a moving message in honour of Raila Odinga, whose scheduled burial was set for October 19.

The former prime minister had been ailing, and news about his death in India was confirmed on October 15.
The medic who attended to him after he collapsed, Dr Fons, revealed that they tried everything possible to keep him alive.
However, his body was brought back home on October 17, accompanied by a delegation which included top government officials and close political allies.
How did Rachel Ruto mourn Raila?
The First Lady, who was in attendance at the state funeral at Nyayo Stadium but was not present at the funeral in Bondo.
However, she penned a moving message in honour of Raila, with Kenyans admiring her beautiful handwriting.
She wrote:
“You were a husband, a father, a brother and a leader. We pray that the Lord God will comfort your family and the nation during this difficult moment.”
She encouraged the family of Raila and Kenyans at large with a Bible verse and prayed for peace.
She also accompanied the handwritten eulogy with photos of herself sitting in state house and another showing Raila’s portrait on a wooden rack.
“Fare thee well, Right Honourable Raila Amolo Odinga, E.G.H,” she captioned on her Facebook page.
