Elizabeth caught the attention of Kenyans after sitting in the front row at the funeral service, among top politicians and military brass.

She looked stunning in a black dress, complete with a black hat and veil.

At one point, she got up from her seat to greet President William Ruto.

What did Elizabeth Tsvangirai say about Raila Odinga?

On Monday, October 20, Elizabeth shared photos from the burial, as well as a throwback photo with her late husband and the Odingas.

In the image, she stood next to Raila, with her husband on the other side. Ida stood next to Tsvangirai and matched dresses with Elizabeth.

The four of them were in high spirits as they looked at the camera, smiling.

Elizabeth paid a heartfelt tribute to Raila, writing:

“Yesterday, I had the honour of witnessing the burial of a hero, a true patriot and servant of the people. I was deeply grateful to stand with my dear sister, Mama Ida Odinga, during this solemn moment.”

Elizabeth admitted that she understood the pain of losing a husband, noting that the Odingas had stood by her after her husband’s death.

“As a widow, I understand the depth of her pain. Mama Ida and her late husband stood by me in my time of sorrow, and it was both a privilege and an expression of sisterhood to stand with her and the people of Kenya. In love, prayer, and solidarity. Pumzika kwa amani, Baba. Pole Kenya, Mungu awafariji.”

In other news, First Son George Ruto honoured Raila by adding a striking portrait of him on his matatu, Money Fest.

The image, shared on the matatu’s Instagram on Friday, October 17, showed Raila’s smiling face in orange and black near the driver’s window.

Many Kenyans praised the tribute, with some suggesting the matatu deserved the Kenya One title, which recognises the most popular matatu in Nairobi.

The homage sparked widespread admiration and discussion across social media.
