Nairobi – Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua is planning to lead a delegation to the late former prime minister Raila Amollo Odinga’s home.

What Gachagua’s team said about Raila Jr’s remarks
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, United Opposition youth leader Ken Babu said Gachagua’s team is aware of the remarks by Raila Junior.

Babu commended Junior for disclosing that the family is open to any Kenyans willing to pay homage to the former prime minister.
“In the spirit of unity, respect, and national healing, we have taken note of the noble message delivered by the Odinga family through Raila Junior, affirming that all Kenyans are welcome to pay homage to the late Rt. Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga. The family’s openness and grace reflect the true character of Baba, a man who, throughout his life, preached reconciliation, democracy, and the spirit of one Kenya,” Babu said.
He disclosed that there are plans for Gachagua to lead a powerful delegation to visit both Kang’o Ka Jaramogi and the Opoda Farm to condole with the Odinga family.
Will Gachagua visit Raila Odinga’s home?
“In this regard, very soon, the Opposition leader, Rigathi Gachagua, accompanied by a delegation of Opposition leaders, including yours truly, the Opposition youth chair, will visit Bondo, both at Kang’o Ka Jaramogi and Opoda Farm, to personally condole with the Odinga family,” he stated.
According to Babu, it is time for respect and recognition of a man whose sacrifice created the current democratic space that every Kenyan enjoys today.
He noted that Raila’s legacy belongs to every Kenyan, irrespective of their political standing in the society.
“This moment transcends politics. It is about respect, reflection, and recognition of a man whose sacrifices shaped the democratic space we enjoy today. Raila Odinga’s legacy belongs to every Kenyan from the mountains of Nyeri to the plains of Luo Nyanza, from the coastlines of Mombasa to the dry lands of Turkana,” he stated.
Babu urged all Kenyans to put aside their differences and honour the former prime minister for his tireless sacrifices.
“I urge the nation to embrace this period as a time to recommit ourselves to peace, dialogue, and the shared dream of a just, united, and prosperous Kenya. Let us put aside political divides and honour the life of a patriot who taught us that Kenya is bigger than all of us. May the spirit of Raila Amolo Odinga continue to guide our conscience and our pursuit of a better nation. Long live Kenya. Long live unity. Long live democracy,” the youthful leader noted.

Why Nyeri MPs will visit Raila Odinga’s home
Meanwhile, a section Nyeri county leaders strongly condemned the remarks by Governor Mutahi Kahiga regarding Raila’s death.
Mathira MP Eric Wamumbi was among the elected leaders from Nyeri who came out in condemnation of the governor.
He revealed that he and his colleagues had organised a visit to the late Raila’s home in Bondo, Siaya County, to console the bereaved family and apologise on behalf of their people in light of Kahiga’s sentiments.
