The caller informed her that her close friend, 35-year-old Deborah Opah, had been struck by not one, but two vehicles.

How Deborah Opah died

In a heartbreaking post on Facebook, Geraldine mourned her departed friend who met her death in what witnesses described as a horrifying accident.

Just two days earlier, Deborah had stopped by her shop, laughing and chatting as they discussed an upcoming anniversary sale.

“She promised to send her younger sister to help me,” Chinyere recalled, her voice breaking. “We even spoke again that Friday around 3:40 pm. She sounded fine. Just hours later, she was gone.”

According to reports, Deborah was on her way home when a minibus hit her, and before anyone could help, another car ran over her, killing her instantly.

Geraldine eulogised Deborah

After receiving the news, Geraldine rushed to Ogui Police Station hoping to find her friend alive, but there was no way.

“Your death is scary. Your death is mysterious. Your death is painful. What a tragedy,” Chinyere wrote in a heartbreaking tribute shared online.

As friends gather to honor Deborah’s memory, they remember her not for the manner of her passing, but for her kindness, laughter, and unwavering friendship.

She has been eulogised as a light that was extinguished too soon on the streets. Rest in power, Debby.
