A Kenyan boda boda rider has impressed many people on the internet after building a modest one-bedroom house from scratch, defying his relatives who wanted him to sell his dad’s land.
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Amadi said that his mum died after bravely battling stage four cancer, but before that sad turn of events, his father had really struggled with her.
“My mum had Stage 4 cancer, and my dad was looking for money to treat her. So, when my dad got into an accident at night, my mum was shocked and she did not live long; she died soon after.”

Amadi was left under the care of relatives, and their plan of taking care of him did not go down well with him.
“I refused to sell the land and kept the faith, and look at me now,” he said.
“Today, I don’t know where my family members are,” he said.
How is Amadi’s interior decoration?
In a TikTok video, Amadi showed a one-bedroom house with a kitchenette and bathroom area. Although the house is not very big, it is tastefully finished with gypsum ceiling, well-done painting, and for entertainment, he uses a large projector.
“Thanks to my boda boda customers, without you, I would not have done anything. Your 50, 100, and more have helped me come this far.”
According to Amadi, it has also been a journey of sacrifice. He used to see his friends eat chicken, go for road trips and swimming, and feel envious, but now he says his sacrifices have paid off.
“It has been a lot of sacrifice, and they have been asking where I got the money. It has not been easy at all,” he said.
