A woman from Kashani area in Bamburi ward, Mombasa County, reportedly fainted on Monday night after learning that a plot of land she had purchased while working in the Gulf had been sold by her own mother.

The woman, a single mother of one, had spent several years working in the Middle East, carefully saving her earnings to buy the piece of land back home, a symbol of her hard work and sacrifice.

However, upon returning to Kenya, she was devastated to discover that her mother had secretly sold the property and handed the money to a local pastor.

According to Msenangu FM, the woman broke down in disbelief before collapsing, overwhelmed by shock and grief.
She was later helped by residents and is said to be recovering as the matter continues to stir conversations about family betrayal.
The aggrieved woman represents the vulnerability of individuals working abroad whose assets back home are often mismanaged or exploited.

US-based Kenyan woman loses apartment to brothers
The incident comes barely two weeks after another Kenyan woman opened up about her investment being mismanaged by family members.
For 27 years, Alice Wanjohi hustled in the US but sent money back home for her family to build a four-storey apartment in her name.
She trusted her mother with registration and construction, a decision that has cost her everything and strained relations with her brothers.
Unknown to her, her brothers were taking turns in securing loans against the property, and when they defaulted, it was put up for auction.
