A family in Busia county has been thrown into mourning following the death of a loved one.

Cleophas Oyiera Magina sadly passed away, leaving his relatives, friends, and university comrades in deep sorrow.
The promising young man reportedly met his untimely death on Thursday, November 6, as confirmed by people close to him.
Which course was Magina pursuing?
He was a fourth-year student at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST), pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
“It’s a dark Thursday again! One of our students in the School of Business has passed away. On behalf of the Namalo and Nyambare community, we join in mourning our brother, Cleophas Oyiera Magina, my schoolmate, friend, and relative. RIP,” wrote Mheshimiwa GK.
He did not share the cause of Magina’s death but posted throwback screenshots of their conversations on Facebook.
In one of the shared screenshots, Mheshimiwa had asked his online followers to tag their childhood friends and share fond memories with them.

“I remember Joy Atetwa, who was the class monitor, and I was the prefect from Class One to Four. Magina was my competitor, when he was number one, I was number two,” read a post dated May 23, 2024.
Magina replied in the comment section, reminiscing about their childhood days.
“So you remember? Old golden days. When it came to leadership, you mistreated us, especially me, an introvert,” he joked.
The last time Magina updated his Facebook account was on Thursday, September 18, when he shared a photo.

He was with friends at an eatery, enjoying pizza and soft drinks as they caught up and had fun.
They sat around a table with two large pizzas and several slices, while other customers could be seen in the background enjoying their meals.
A netizen also shared Magina’s last WhatsApp conversation with a friend that touched on school and his health.
The friend had asked him if he had registered for the Social Health Authority (SHA) as they worked on other details. Sadly, by the time the message was sent, Magina had already passed away.
