The news of Hodan Africa’s death was shared by BBC Africa, and her fans across the world mourned her.
How did Hodan Afrika?
According to BBC Africa, the singer, whose real name is Hodan Aden, and her younger daughter died after a boat they were on capsized in Mayotte, a French-administered island in the Indian Ocean.
Musician Abdulqaadir FilFil, a close friend of Hodan, confirmed her death, according to the BBC report.
Hodan and her daughter were among over 15 people who were on the vessel carrying Somali immigrants. BBC Africa reported that only one of the passengers survived the tragedy.
