However, Nyawira strongly responded to critics who offered unsolicited advice about her relationship with Kanyari. The controversy began after a viral video from one of Kanyari’s church services showed him making remarks about Nyawira’s marital status, which many Kenyans considered offensive and humiliating.

A recent video captured inside Kanyari’s church showed the preacher at the pulpit. He had converted the house of worship into a makeshift kitchen.
A man in Maasai regalia was seen carrying around corn on the cob, while another roasted different meat cuts nearby. Kanyari enjoyed the meal as Nyawira stood beside him, seemingly singing into the microphone.
Out of the blue, Nyawira went down on one knee and presented what appeared to be a ring to Kanyari.
He briefly looked at her before ignoring her, but she remained persistent and tugged at his arm. One of the men serving food gave her an amused look on his face.
Kanyari kept rejecting Nyawira’s advances, and she eventually stood up and left the pulpit smiling.
