The National Police Service has issued fresh directions for former National Youth Service (NYS) members seeking to join the police force in the upcoming recruitment exercise.

On Friday, October 31, Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja announced the nationwide recruitment of police constables, scheduled for Monday, November 17.
Soon after the announcement, the service released updated guidelines that affect where ex-NYS applicants should report for assessment.
The new communication targets ex-NYS members, allowing them more flexibility in choosing where to present themselves on recruitment day.
List of new recruitment centres for ex-NYS members
According to the service, ex-NYS members are now free to report for recruitment within their respective regions.
They may present themselves at their usual home sub-county recruitment centres or at three additional centres that had not appeared in the first advertisement.
The added centres include:
- NYS Headquarters in Ruaraka, Nairobi region
- Ole Polos Recruitment Centre in Kajiado West, Kajiado county
- Elangata Wuas DCC Office in Elangata Wuas, Kajiado county
- Ngo’suani Centre in Narok West, Narok county
The NPS confirmed that all other details issued earlier about the nationwide recruitment remain the same.
