Betty died on Monday, November 10, after battling blood cancer, leaving behind her husband, Hiram Gitau, and two children from her failed relationship with renowned preacher Pastor Victor Kanyari.
Where did Betty Bayo die?
The 11th Hour hitmaker died while receiving treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), and Hiram was with her at the facility.
Hiram has shown maturity since the death of his wife, putting on a brave face and avoiding media appearances as he mourned Betty.
On the flip side, Pastor Kanyari has been publicly mourning since the passing of his kids’ mother.
What did Kenyans say about Hiram Gitau?
One Kenyan took to X to commend Hiram, who is also known as Tash.
He observed that the public had forgotten Hiram, despite his affection for his late wife.
“While the world feasts on gossip and every headline screams Pastor Kanyari, there’s a man somewhere quietly breaking inside. He gave Betty Bayo love, built peace with her and kept his life off the cameras. No one’s tagging him, no one’s checking on him, but he’s hurting too. The loud Pastor Kanyari is getting sympathy and support on his live streams, whilst this quiet gentleman has been forgotten,” George Njoroge tweeted.
Many netizens have praised his dignified mourning.
@simplystellah:
“It doesn’t matter now, the guy has never loved limelight, he loved her, respected her, he’s mourning her in silence and in respect that she deserves…being loud and dramatic means nothing.”
@WandexJim:
“Sadly so. He’s built a strong person out of her and deserves peace and support. Though he may appear forgotten, his part in history is deeply etched. Unerasable.”
