In the letter addressed to Kanja, the former DP claimed the people planning violence are linked to Governor Cecily Mbarire and Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku.
“Despite the evidence and information in your custody, the above persons have not been arraigned. We demand that ahead of the by-elections, the above persons must be arrested immediately and charged under the penal code.
“You area well aware that the above people and others in the video clip are close associates of Embu governor Cecily Mbarire and CS Geoffrey Ruku, with Gitundo serving as a Director of Communication for governor Mbarire,” he claimed.

“Be advised that the people of Mbeere North have assured me that, might you, Kanja fail to provide adequate security to me and my entourage, they will do it themselves,” the DCP party leader said.
What did Kuria say about the threats on Gachagua?
On Monday, November 10, Kuria criticised the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for taking no action against people behind the viral video.
Kuria questioned whether IEBC is ready to conduct a free and fair election in Mbeere North.
According to Kuria, the video suggests opposition outfits are not welcome to campaign in Mbeere North, yet IEBC has not taken any action.
The former CS argued that Mbeere North is currently the property of the electoral commission, adding that they should take charge of all election-related issues.
