Kenyans are still coming to terms with the sudden death of gospel singer Betty Bayo, who passed away after being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia.

The singer, real name Beatrice Mbugua, rose to fame over a decade ago with her hit song 11th Hour, followed by other fan favourites such as Siyabonga and Busy Busy.
What was Betty Bayo’s last song?
Following her passing, fellow gospel artistes and ministers paid emotional tributes.
Among them was the renowned gospel music couple Wapendwa Muziki; Mesh and Ninah, who shared a touching video of their last moments with Betty.

The four-minute clip captured the recording of her final song, Plan A, which she worked on with the couple before her death.
In the video, recorded in a lavish home, Betty was seen wearing a white Manchester United jersey and red sweatpants.
She appeared to be in high spirits, dancing and singing passionately as the audio was recorded.
In Plan A, Betty delivers the hook in Kikuyu, praising God as her only plan in life to overcome challenges.
She sings lines such as:
“You are my plan A, you are my plan B, you are my plan C, without you, I cannot do it. If I am to shine, I only want to shine because of you. I want a beautiful life, but only the one that you will give to me, because now I know that without you, I cannot do it. I look up to the skies where my help comes from…”
Throughout the video, Betty looked joyful, immersed in what she loved most, praising and worshipping God through music.
Wapendwa Muziki captioned the video with a touching tribute:

Where will Betty Bayo be buried?
In related news, the committee in charge of planning Betty’s send-off announced that she will be laid to rest on Thursday, November 20.
The singer will be buried on her own land in Mugumo Estate along Kiambu Road.
The committee also revealed that they have set a KSh 5 million budget to ensure she receives a befitting farewell.
