But just three months into her new job, her dream turned into a distressing ordeal when her sponsor began making unwanted advances towards her.
Why Eunice fell out with Qatar boss
She told TUKO.co.ke that what started as subtle behaviour quickly escalated, leaving her feeling unsafe in both her workplace and living environment.
Feeling threatened, she knew that if she didn’t protect herself early, things would get worse or she risked being falsely accused.
Determined to seek help, she reported the harassment to the office responsible for her employment.
To her disappointment, nothing was done. The silence and lack of action confirmed her worst fears; she was facing the situation alone.
Eunice deported from Qatar
With no protection and no sign that the behaviour would stop, she made a difficult but necessary decision.
She fled and reported the matter to the authorities, hoping they would listen. To her relief, the response she received was nothing like what she had feared.
“The police and immigration officers treated me with respect and empathy. After reviewing my case and confirming I had no negative record, they assured me I would be safe,” she narrated.
Soon after, she was escorted to Hamad Airport under tight security, a moment she recalls with a mixture of shock and relief.
While she had no criminal case, being surrounded by police was something she described as a surreal scene.

Why Eunice was guarded at Hamad airport
The heavy security presence was not meant to intimidate her, but to ensure her protection until she boarded her flight.
Her deportation process was quick and orderly, with the government arranging her flight ticket home.
What she initially feared would end in detention or lengthy procedures became her unexpected escape from danger.
“I actually felt relieved when I was deported immediately,” she said. “At first, I thought I would be jailed, but thank God I returned to Kenya very fast.”
After staying in Kenya for eight months, she reapplied to the Gulf and got another job opportunity with a different boss.
Today, she is grateful for her safety and proud of the courage it took to act decisively before matters worsened.
