They were accompanied by a woman identified as Joyce, and together they were spotted at the Nairobi offices of lawyer Mwenda Njagi. Their visit quickly became a topic of online debate.
Many Kenyans began speculating that the meeting might be linked to custody issues involving Betty’s children, Sky Victor and Danny, who are biologically fathered by Pastor Victor Kanyari.
Why did Betty Bayo’s hubby visit lawyer?
A TikTok video captured Tash, Shiru, and the lawyer having a brief discussion inside the office, fueling even more rumours
Shortly after, Shiru made public the purpose of the trip.
While she did not reference the rumours over custody, she asserted that it involved the welfare of Betty’s two kids.
According to Shiru, the meeting was meant to handle Betty’s ambassadorial deals.
“Betty Bayo was a Brand Ambassador at Virtuous Explorers. Following yesterday’s meeting with Virtuous Explorers CEO Sarah Mtalii and Wakili Mwenda Njagi. it was agreed that Betty Bayo’s contract with Virtuous Explorers will continue even after Betty’s sudden demise.”
The singer noted that after the burial, Tash and Kanyari will meet with Sarah to negotiate a new contract extension for Sky in honour of her mother.

Can Betty Bayo’s hubby get custody?
Becky Bosibori, a family lawyer, told TUKO.co.ke that a father assumes parental responsibility when the mother passes away, unless he is deemed unfit or circumstances make it unsafe for the child.
“If the father is not alive or cannot care for the child, responsibility can shift to a guardian named by the mother, a guardian appointed by the court, or an eligible close relative,” she said.
Becky noted that courts also consider the children’s best interests.
“A court may step in and appoint another guardian if the father is considered unfit, including situations involving separation and the conditions surrounding it.”
Numerous Kenyans lauded the approach of involving Kanyari in decisions about his kids.
Nancy Mueni:
“The important part is that the biological dad has been involved. This is wisdom, the girl.”
Trizah Mwangi:
“This young gal is equal to the task; she will deliver. Congratulations 🎉❤️ Thank you for this.”
Mutethya Mulinge:
“Too much respect is accorded to the father and the husband. I love that bit.”
