Winnie stressed that ODM was not formed in secrecy and that its future would not be decided in private deals or whispered conversations.

She added that her father, Raila, had been the only one with the experience to manage ODM’s role in the broad-based arrangement with President William Ruto’s UDA, and she questioned whether current actors could handle that responsibility.

Winnie urged the party to convene a National Delegates Conference so members could select new leadership, and she encouraged young people within ODM to step forward and help define the party’s next chapter in line with its founding vision.

A video doing the rounds on social media showed Winnie arriving for the event wearing an orange t-shirt.

She donned cargo pants, sneakers and a sun hat. She was surrounded by numerous party members as she seemingly walked to the stage.
