Cabinet Secretaries Julius Ogamba, Wycliffe Oparanya and Hannah Cheptumo, together with Attorney General Dorcas Oduor, filled key leadership positions meant to boost oversight and performance in their respective sectors.

Education CS Julius Ogamba opened the list of new postings with the appointment of Mohamed Sheikh Gabow as the non-executive chairperson of the Kenya Education Management Institute.

His three year term began on November 14. The ministry noted that the move is expected to strengthen the institute’s leadership structure and improve delivery of its mandate.
Co-operatives CS Wycliffe Oparanya followed with two appointments to the board of the Micro and Small Enterprises Authority.
Lucy Loronyokie and Caroline Karanja will serve for three years, starting November 14.
Gender CS Hannah Cheptumo named Beatrice Jepkoech Changwony to the Kenya National Library Service Board.
Her three year term began on the same date, a move that aligns with ongoing plans to widen access to library services across the country.
Attorney General Dorcas Oduor completed the round of appointments by placing Ellias Billy Nyonje, Simon Malonza, Rina Chatrath and Nancy Manyara on the board of the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration. Their terms will also run for three years.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 (1) of the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration Act, the Attorney General appoints Ellias Billy Nyonje, Simon Malonza, Rina Chatrath and Nancy Manyara, to be Members of the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from November 14, 2025,” the announcement read in part.
At the county level, Trans Nzoia governor George Natembeya announced a reshuffle in the county audit committee, introducing new leadership and members to oversee its operations.
He appointed Tulienge Anne Nangila as the Chairperson of the committee, while Andrew Wekesa Wepukhulu will serve as the Secretary.
The committee will also include Makokha Shadrack Nasengo, Mwitari Geoffrey Kiruki, Simwelo Juma Wasike, and Scholastica Namalwa Nalobile as members, tasked with ensuring accountability and proper financial oversight within the county.
Did Ruto appoint Speaker Kingi’s brother to government job?
In a related development, President William Ruto named Michael Thoyah Kingi to the Salaries and Remuneration Commission for a six year term.
The appointment was published in the November 14 Gazette, placing him among officials who help shape salaries for state officers.
The move drew public interest because Michael is the brother of Senate Speaker Amason Kingi, a detail that had earlier prompted lawmakers to question him on neutrality during his vetting.
Michael previously served as Magarini MP from 2017 to 2022.
