Kitui: President William Ruto’s advice that Kenyans need water and not rain has taken over the internet, with Kenyans coming up with a challenge listing hilarious things they don’t need.

Ruto was speaking in Kitui, where he proposed building 50 mega dams in Kenya, which will provide water and eventually boost agriculture.

“We do not need rain; we need water for irrigation, but we are fixated on rain. We have enough water in Kenya, but not enough rain,” he said.
The Ministry of Water has already listed all the dams needed to get the water as proposed by Ruto, as they have been thinking of Thwake, which has not worked for 10 years.
“Let us look for the resources to build all 50 mega dams in Kenya. It will help us produce food through irrigation, and we can cultivate food on 2 million acres, which means we won’t need to import sugarcane, rice, or maize,” Ruto added.
Ruto then proposed that the country should have a national infrastructure fund that will ensure the dams are in place and there is no need for rain.

On the challenge posted on Instagram, a woman said I don’t need work; I just need a salary. Another young man said he doesn’t need money; we just need wealth, while another one said we do not need eyes; we just need to see.

Ruto slams Kenyans for using speech for challenge
