The former police officer, who lives alone in Tassia, has not been seen since November 13, prompting a desperate search that has left relatives fearing the worst.
Charles was ex-police officer
His younger sister, Carolyne Mageto, told TUKO.co.ke that Charles left the police service several years ago and had been struggling with depression and alcohol addiction.
Carolyne reiterated that despite his vulnerability, he was known to be harmless, and officers who encountered him would rarely arrest him.

“Polisi huwa hawamshiki hata wakimpata kwa dens,” his brother explained. What raised alarm was a call from the landlady on Sunday.
The family, who pay rent for Charles and regularly check on him, say his disappearance is completely out of character.
How family knew Charles was missing
A man who usually serves Charles meals near his residence noticed that he had not come by since Thursday, a worrying break from his routine.
“He eats at the same place every day before going home,” the distressed sister said.
When the concerned neighbour informed the landlady that he hadn’t seen him, she reached out to Carolyne.
Given that nobody saw him on the day he disappeared, the family has no idea how he was dressed.
Why Charles was depressed
The missing ex-police officer has a son currently attending college in Nakuru, whose mother Charles parted ways with years ago.
Carolyne disclosed that her brother’s woes began when he was tranfered to Lamu/Kiunga as he never reported to the new station.
