After separating from Kanyari, Betty found love again with Hiram Gitau, popularly known as Tash.
The singer had been living with Tash at her home in Edenville Estate, where the children developed a close bond with their stepfather.
With the growing debate, Kanyari, being the biological father, has openly expressed his willingness to care for his children.
Is Kanyari a responsible father?
During a recent sermon at his church, Kanyari insisted that even while Betty was still alive, he was a present and responsible father.
He told his congregation that he worked tirelessly to give his children the best, despite not being with their mother.
“Even that fluent English that they speak, I am the one who has made them speak like that. Why don’t people want to give me credit? he asked.
He continued:
“Hio kizungu watoto wangu wanaongea, it’s because of me, it is my money. I am the one who enrolled them in an international school, the best one in Kenya. There we pay KSh 500,000 per term, and I have never told anyone in my family about it because if I did they would tell me it is too much.”

Pastor Kanyari says he has no issue with Betty’s hubby Tash as kids’ custody debate intensifies
He recounted how his own brother dismissed the idea of such expensive education fees for his kids, highlighting his dedication.
“I even told my brother about it once, and he told me he cannot take his child to a school where the fees are more than KSh 15,000. He said he would rather build apartments for them to inherit later,” Kanyari added.
The preacher had previously claimed that he secured a KSh 90 million mansion in Runda, where he intends to move in with his children once everything is settled.
Despite Kanyari’s confession about being a committed father, speculation around the children’s custody has persisted. Some speculate that Betty’s mother, Joyce, might also have a claim.
However, others maintain that despite his controversies, Kanyari has demonstrated responsibility over the years and, as the biological father, should take custody.
However, as of this publication, it is yet to be determined who will take custody of the kids.
