Gospel musician Betty Bayo has been laid to rest on land she bought in Mugumo Estate, Kiambu county.

Bayo’s body was interred on November 20 following an emotional burial ceremony held at Ndumberi Stadium.
The ceremony was attended by family, friends, fellow musicians, mourners, and politicians, including deputy president Kithure Kindiki.
Also present were Kiambu residents and Bayo’s fans, who came in their thousands to mourn the fallen icon.
After the ceremony, the singer’s body, placed in a unique and elegant green coffin, was taken to her final resting place for the burial rites.

However, only 50 people, including close family and friends, were allowed into the compound. As the hearse entered the gravesite, mourners flocked to the gate, trying to gain entry, which caused a commotion.
Chaos quickly erupted as the crowd gathered outside the white gate, all eager to catch a glimpse of the late singer’s grave.
Videos shared online showed many, including YouTubers and bloggers, engaging in a push-and-pull with security personnel.
Eventually, the gate was locked, leaving the crowd screaming and shouting in disappointment.
What happened at Betty Bayo’s gravesite?
Emotions were high as the beloved musician was laid to rest.
Her husband, Hiram Gitau, ex-husband Pastor Victor Kanyari, daughter Sky Victor, and son Dani Victor were all visibly emotional as Betty’s coffin was lowered into the ground.
Dani was comforted by his father, Kanyari, while her heartbroken daughter was consoled by a family member.

How much did Kindiki pledge to give Bayo’s family?
TUKO.co.ke reported that Kindiki vowed to support the singer’s children with KSh 5 million as a contribution from him and his wife while adding that president William Ruto would also give KSh 5 million.
The funeral programme had been modified to allow the Deputy President’s participation, enabling him to rush to Parliament for the State of the Nation Address.
Kindiki also said he would pray for the children and all those who are orphaned, wishing the family strength during this difficult time.
