Nairobi – Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are still trying to unravel the gruesome murder of delivery rider Anthony Otieno Olwal.

Olwal was found murdered in a short-stay room at Meridian Apartment in South B on Tuesday, November 18.

What was Anthony Olwal delivering in South B?

The rider had gone to the apartment to deliver an iPhone 17 Pro Max phone which had been requested by a client through WhatsApp.

As investigations continue, clear CCTV footage has emerged showing Olwal’s last moments at the Meridian apartment before he was killed.

The CCTV footage shared by Citizen TV clearly shows Olwal arriving at the Meridian building and taking the elevator to the fourth floor.

From the footage, the rider who was carrying a blue bag containing a delivery package is seen making a call at 11.49 am, apparently trying to locate the client, to whom he had been sent.

He then disappears shortly when it appears that he had located the customer who was waiting for the package.

Moments later, the CCTV footage captured a man exiting the room via the staircase, holding a bag.

Did CCTV capture suspected killers?

At 12:02pm, another individual descends quickly. A third man appears, without clothes, and rushes downstairs while carrying a package.

The CCTV captures the trio seeming visibly shaken as they hurriedly zipped the bag as they exited the building.

From the video, a Nissan Note vehicle, registration number KDL336E is seen arriving and two of the suspects enter the car.

However, a lady wearing a cap, believed to be the owner of the short-to-stay apartment Charity Muthoni Michoki, arrives and confronts them before grabbing the suspects’ bag.

The previous day, on Monday, November 17, at 7.22am, one of the suspects is seen entering the building with the same bag, accompanied by another man.

At 1pm, the suspects are joined by a woman dressed in an outfit seen worn by one of the suspects the following day.

November 17, 06:46pm: the lady is seen again, carrying the same bag, leaving the building using the elevator to the ground floor.

Detectives are now looking for the three suspects and the mysterious lady who entered the room where Olwal was killed.

Already, several people, including the owner of the apartment and the wife of the deceased, have been interrogated by the police.

How did suspected killers order the iPhone 17?

As reported earlier, investigations revealed that the order was placed via WhatsApp by a man who claimed to be in Eldoret.

The man allegedly told the seller that the phone was to be delivered to his brother, Hilary, at a guesthouse in the Sana Sana area.

WhatsApp chats leaked showed that the buyer initially enquired about the availability of the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
