Police in Makueni have launched a manhunt for the driver of the lorry that rammed into a PSV and killed six people on Friday, November 21.

Among the deceased were four Form Four candidates who had just finished their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and were headed home.

Eleven people, including the matatu driver and an eight-year-old boy, survived the accident and were rushed to the Makueni Sub-County Hospital.

Speaking from his bed, one of the survivors recalled the horrific moment the lorry rammed into the PSV.

The male survivor narrated that the driver of the lorry was overspeeding and lost control in the process, causing a tragedy.

The stationary matatu was to ferry the passengers to Tawa, Machakos County.

“I didn’t understand the lorry driver. He was driving at a high speed all the way until the scene of crash,” he said.
