The 30-year-old, who operated an online electronics delivery service with his wife Eunice Atieno Ouma, was killed on Tuesday, November 18, at Meridian Court in South B.
Who ordered phone that led to Anthony Olwal’s killing?
Olwal was reportedly on a routine delivery after being sent to deliver a high-end iPhone worth KSh220,000.
Eunice recounted the events leading to her husband’s death, stating that the client introduced herself as Grace.
The grieving lady stated that the lady informed him that the phone was to be delivered to a “Hillary”, her brother residing in South B.
“The client had told me her name is Grace. She called Hillary and told him that an iPhone had been ordered by a Grace and said, “You are in South B, I’ll have it delivered to you, so if you can, tell me exactly where in South B and I’ll come.” I then wrote him a receipt, and he went, picked up the phone, and made the delivery. The phone has been recovered, but we do not know where his own phone is,” Eunice recalled.
This would initiate a sequence of events that would end with Olwal’s family grieving his tragic death.
She explained that she felt something was amiss after her husband, usually diligent and first in his deliveries, took a long time to return.
How did Anthony Olwal’s wife find out he’s dead?
Eunice embarked on a journey, alongside a friend, to find out if everything was okay and that is when she got the tragic news.
“While approaching the building, we met an ice cream seller while asking for directions, who told us about the reports of a rider who had been murdered and described the motorcycle of my husband. At that point, I sensed something was not well and my heart sank,” she added.
Now a widow, Eunice has called for justice, questioning the motives behind her husband’s killing, lamenting over the pain she has been left to endure.
“I want my husband to get justice because people are killed, but what happened to him was pure cruelty. I do not understand why someone would kill another human being. If it was about the phone, he could have taken it and left, and we would have dealt with the cost of paying for it. A life cannot be replaced,” she cried.

The phone Olwal was delivering when he was killed had been sourced from a friend, Tonny Mwenda, who confirmed the arrangement between them in their last conversation.
Mwenda explained that they didn’t have the high-end phone, hence got it from a local dealer and agreed to give the dealer his money after selling the phone at a profit.
“I went to my friend and collected the phone. I picked up this phone from my friend, whose name is Ken, an iPhone dealer, because we couldn’t afford that phone ourselves. I collected it from my friend so that she could sell it, make a profit, and bring the money back so we could return it to the owner,” he stated.
What did CCTV where Antony Olwal died show?
As earlier reported, new CCTV footage showed the last movements of the delivery rider before he was killed at Meridian Apartments in South B.
The video records him arriving shortly before noon on November 18 with a blue delivery bag.
At 11:49am, he is seen making a phone call as he tries to reach the client who ordered the high value phone.
He then takes the elevator to the fourth floor and walks into a room where he was later found dead.
Minutes after he enters, three men walk out of the same room and one comes down the stairs carrying a bag.
Another follows in a hurry, half-dressed and holding what looks like a package. A third man joins them before two of them get into a waiting Nissan Note.
