Wakoli, the son of retired senior sergeant Alfred Barasa of the Kenya Army and the late Madam Joyce Ndamwe, became the first in his family to graduate from university.
What did Richard Wakoli study in university?
He told TUKO.co.ke that he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography and Urban Planning from Chuka University on November 22, a milestone that has filled his family and community with pride.
The achievement sparked celebrations as the family organised a showstopping motorcade to honour him, turning the streets into a parade of joy, music, and cheer.
On the convoy were several high-end vehicles with customised registration plates congratulating the new graduate.
Heartwarming videos captured a smiling Richard, dressed in his graduation gown, waving at passerby from the sunroof of a sleek Mercedes Benz.
Richard Wakoli’s brother proud of milestone
His eldest brother, Eric Barasa, fondly known as “Sinyerere Baba Yao,” expressed heartfelt gratitude to friends and relatives who joined the occasion.
“We are beyond proud of Richard. Today, he is not just our son, he is our hero,” he said, beaming with pride as the motorcade wound its way through the village.
