On Sunday, November 23, residents of Kadenge sub-location were left in shock after they discovered the body of Nicholas Otieno in Udura village.

How Nicholas Otieno died in Siaya

Preliminary investigations suggest the man took his own life following a domestic dispute involving dowry cattle paid for his elder sister.

Confirming the incident, Kadenge Assistant Chief Jacob Ouma stated that the family reported the incident shortly after 3:00 a.m.

According to Citizen Digital, Otieno had demanded full control of the dowry animals, while his mother allegedly offered to give him only one calf.

Ouma revealed that the dowry had been settled during a ceremony held the previous day, and that the deceased had insisted on receiving at least two cows.

The area chief said disagreement reportedly escalated into a quarrel moments before Otieno left home at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22.

Sadly, youths returning home from a funeral vigil discovered Otieno’s body and raised the alarm and informed the family.

Police officers arrived at the scene, moved the body to the Siaya County Referral Hospital mortuary, and scheduled a postmortem examination.

How the husband killed his wife in Kisii

In Kisii county, a family was thrown into mourning after their missing 54-year-old kin was found murdered.

The search for the 54-year-old woman ended in pain after her body was found buried at the doorstep of her home, where she had reportedly been residing with the man.

John Agwacha, 72, allegedly confessed to killing and burying his wife’s body at their home’s doorstep.

Agwacha, who was arrested by police in Kisii, later changed his stance, stating that he did not know the whereabouts of his wife.
