Who is Mwengi Mutuse?
Mutuse is a first‑time MP who became popular after sponsoring an impeachment motion against former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua in October 2024.
He accused Gachagua of abuse of office, incompetence, violation of the constitution, and tribalism, among other charges.
Mutuse later faced a thorough grilling session in the Senate, when he was questioned by no‑nonsense lawyer Elisha Ongoya.
Despite the successful impeachment, the matter was challenged in court and is yet to reach completion.
